A scenic flight is the best way to see the spectacular landscapes of the Yarra Valley, Dandenong Ranges, Mornington Peninsula and Phillip Island. So hop in a hot air balloon, hover in a helicopter or fly over it all in a light plane.
Hot air ballooning: with its bush-covered hills, peaceful valleys, extensive vineyards and country villages, the Yarra Valley has become one of Australia’s best locations for hot air ballooning. You’ll be aloft before dawn, floating over the ever-changing countryside before descending into a vineyard for breakfast with a glass of sparkling wine from the Yarra Valley. Global Ballooning is the Yarra Valley’s highly experienced balloon operator.
Helicopter flights: Phillip Island Helicopters offer a choice of seven flights, all with magnificent views of the island’s coastal and inland scenery. Highlights include the Penguin Parade, the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, the busy seaside town of Cowes, tiny Churchill Island and some spectacular surf beaches. Helicopter winery tours can also be organised on Phillip Island, and between the wineries in the Yarra Valley.
Light aircraft flights: Peninsula Aero Club will take you for a fantastic flight over the Peninsula, French Island, Phillip Island, Western Port Bay, Port Phillip Bay and the wild Bass Strait coastline. Up in the Yarra Valley, you can get a bird's eye view of the vineyards as your small plane cruises above major wineries such as TarraWarra and Chandon.
