Yarra Glen is another town in the heart of the Yarra Valley wine growing area, with excellent cellar doors, restaurants and cafes ready to welcome you. This is one of Victoria’s top foodie towns, with a large number of farmers, growers and producers nearby. To find all this bounty in one place, drop into the regional produce store at Yering Station or come along to the Yering Station farmers’ market (third Sunday of every month). To satisfy your sweet cravings, visit the new Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery, which is becoming a major attraction for Yarra Glen.
Naturally there’s a brace of good cafes and restaurants which feature local produce, plus day spas to complete an indulgent visit.
The Yarra Valley Grand Hotel is a heritage property with contemporary services and boutique guest rooms in a magnificent historic setting, while the 4.5 star Balgownie Estate Vineyard Resort and Spa takes care of just about everything with its luxury accommodation, day spa, health club, recreation facilities, cellar door and restaurant.
If you’d like something small and cosy, there are B&Bs and cottages.
