East of Mt Evelyn are the little villages of the Warburton Highway, a touring route leading to secluded accommodation and eco experiences.
Wandin and Seville are the two main villages, with boutique wineries, fresh local produce and farm gates where you can fill your picnic basket in summer. To stock up on fragrant treats, visit the lavender farms from Wandin to Woori Yallock.
Local wineries and food producers get together on the second weekend each October, when the Shedfest Wine Festival brings together the best of country entertainment, music, wine and food, topped off with panoramic views. And on the shortest weekend every June, the Shortest Lunch festival is hosted by a number of the Yarra Valley’s smaller vineyards. It’s a moving feast of entrée-sized meals, and is a wonderful way to meander around the Valley’s boutique wineries and savour great food, wine and music, without the hustle and bustle.
